Room Capacity and Occupancy Rate
- An increase of 1.4% was recorded for Rooms Available and Units in Licensed Hotels, Resorts
and Lodging Houses for 3rd Quarter, 2007 when compared to the same period in 2006.
- Total Room Nights sold was 393,169 for third quarter representing a decrease of 9.6%.
Occupancy rate was recorded at 52.5%, a fall of 6.4 percentage points when compared to Quarter 3, 2006.
Bed and Occupancy Rate
- Bed Spaces Available increased by 1.8% while Bed Sold (guest nights) decreased by 7.2%.
- Bed Occupancy decreased by 4.7 percentage points compared to Quarter 3, 2006.
Overall Takings
- Takings from Accommodation, Sales of Food, Liquor, Telephone and other Miscellaneous charges,
recorded a decrease of 18.4% reduced the total hotel turnover to $114.6 million for third Quarter 2007.
Employment
- Paid Employment in the Hotel Sector decreased by 0.5% compared to Quarter 3, 2006.
