Provisional data for September 2009 was :

  • total imports FJD260.8 million
  • domestic exports FJD96.3million
  • total exports FJD124.8 million.
The trade deficit for September 2009 amounted to FJD135.9 million.

Rooms Available recorded a decrease of 3,849 (0.4%) in Licensed Hotels, Resorts and Lodging Houses for Quarter 2, 2009 when compared to the same period in 2008.

Consumer Price Index, October 2009

The All Item Consumer Price Index [CPI] for the month of October, 2009 registered a decrease of 0.2 percent over September 2009 [124.7] and stands at 124.4.

Fiji’s GDP at current factor cost is estimated to grow at 4.2 per cent in 2008.
