The Survey covers registered businesses engaged in Wholesale and Retail Trade; Repair of Motor Vehicles and Motor Cycles that accounts for 80 percent of Total Turnover in this business sector. The statistics provides us with a short-term indicator of the industry’s performance.

December Quarter 2016

  • Total Wholesale and Retail Trade sales stood at $990.3 million for the December quarter of 2016.
  • Total sales rose by 2.5 percent ($24.4 million) when compared to the September quarter of 2016 due to increase in the sale of motor vehicles and non-specialized stores with food, beverages or tobacco.
  • Total sales rose by 3.8 percent ($36.6 million) when compared to the December quarter of 2015 due to higher sales of motor vehicles and hardware materials.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • wrtDec16bSales of automotive fuel rose by 0.7 percent ($2.3 million) when compared to the September quarter of 2016.
  • Sales of food & non-alcoholic beverages and tobacco & alcoholic beverages rose by 5.7 percent ($15.3 million) when compared to the September quarter of 2016.
  • Total sales of food & non-alcoholic beverages and tobacco & alcoholic beverages and automotive fuel rose by 1.7 percent ($10.1 million) when compared to the December quarter of 2015.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • wrtDec16cSales of motor vehicles rose by 4.6 percent ($2.8 million) when compared to the September quarter of 2016.
  • Sales of hardware, paints and glass fell by 3.6 percent ($3.1 million) when compared to the September quarter of 2016.
  • Total sales of hardware, paints & glass and motor vehicles rose by 18.3 percent ($22.6 million) when compared to the December quarter of 2015.

  • Total Wholesale and Retail Trade sales stood at $3,853.8 million for 2016.
  • Total sales rose by 5.2 percent ($189.0 million) when compared to 2015 due to increase in the sale of motor vehicles and hardware materials.

 

 

 

 

 

  • wrtDec16eSales of automotive fuel rose by 0.4 percent ($5.7 million) when compared to 2015.
  • Sales of food & non-alcoholic beverages and tobacco & alcoholic beverages rose by 4.1 percent ($42.2 million) when compared to 2015.
  • Total sales of food & non-alcoholic beverages and tobacco & alcoholic beverages and automotive fuel rose by 2.1 percent ($47.9 million) when compared to 2015.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • wrtDec16f Sales of motor vehicles rose by 21.9 percent ($42.8 million) when compared to 2015.
  • Sales of hardware, paints and glass rose by 27.5 percent ($72.3 million) when compared to 2015.
  • Total sales of hardware, paints & glass and motor vehicles rose by 25.1 percent ($115.1 million) when compared to 2015.
