BUILDING MATERIAL PRICE INDEX- September 2017

The All Items Building Material Price Index (BMPI) for the September quarter of 2017 stood at 107.7.The index is compared to those of earlier periods to gauge the price movements of a representative list of Building Materials.

The All Items BMPI for the September quarter of 2017 registered a decrease of 0.6 percent over the June quarter of 2017.

Detailed sectional changes over the June quarter of 2017 are as follows:

Wood and Related Materials: -0.6%

Lower prices were recorded for dressed treated No.1 framing grade and dressed treated No. 1 dressing

Cement and Related Materials: -0.3%

 Lower prices were recorded for cement.

Iron and Steel: -0.1%

Lower prices were recorded for double side aluminium sisalation and galvanized louvre frames.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       

Plumbing ware: -0.4
Lower prices were recorded for P.V.C down pipe, 100mm P.V.C pipe, wash hand basin, waste pipe and taps ½” brass.   

Paint and Glass: +0.5%

Higher prices were recorded for vanish and paint brush.

Floor and Wall Tiles: +0.8%

Higher prices were recorded for vinyl floor tiles and lino plastic covering.  

Door and Window Frames: 0.0%

No price change was recorded in this category.    

Electrical Products: +0.3%

Higher prices were recorded for zelemite board, single gang switch tube light & fittings, tube light, energy saving bulb, lead wire, & 2 pin plug.
