cpiOct 13 cpiOct 13a
The average annual rate of inflation for the twelve months to October 2013 [i.e. comparing the average CPI for the 12 months to October 2013 with the average for the 12 months to October 2012] stands at 2.7 percent while the month – on-comparable - month inflation rate [compared with October 2012] stands at 3.3 percent.

The All Item Consumer Price Index [CPI] for the month of October 2013 registered an increase of 0.3 percent over September 2013 [122.2] and stands at 122.6.

The Consumer Price Index, which covers price changes in the urban areas Suva, Lami, Nasinu, Nausori, Lautoka, Nadi, Ba and Labasa, has weights derived from the Household Income and Expenditure Survey of 2008/2009.

There are two measures of inflation used in Fiji.  One compares the average CPI over the past twelve months with the average CPI over the previous twelve months while the other compares the CPI in the current month with the CPI in the comparable month of the previous year [i.e. 12 months previously].
