Room Capacity for Quarter 4 and 2012 

 

  • The number of Rooms Available decreased by 0.4% (3,831).
  • The number of Rooms sold decreased by 0.5% (2,375)
  • The Room Occupancy Rate decreased by 0.1 percentage point to 48.3%.
  • Total Rooms Available and Rooms sold increased by 1.2% and 0.8% respectively.
  • Total Room Occupancy Rate decreased by 0.2 percentage points in 2012.

Bed Capacity for Quarter 4 and 2012

 

  • Both the number of Bed Available and Beds sold decreased by 0.8% and 2.2% respectively.
  • Total Bed Available and Beds sold increased by 1.0% and 0.6% respectively.
  • Total Bed Occupancy Rate decreased by 0.2 percentage points in 2012.

 

 Overall Takings and Employment

 

  • Takings from Accommodation, Sales of Food, Liquor, Telephone and Other Miscellaneous Charges totaled $205.9 million, an increase of 5.6%.
  • Total turnover recorded in 2012 was $795.8 million, an increase of 5.2%.
  • Paid Employment for Quarter 4, 2012 in the Hotel Sector increased by 1.3%.

  • The 2007 Qtr 4 Room Occupancy Rate of 51.7% has been the highest for the past 6 years.
  • Room Occupancy slightly decreased to 48.3% from 48.4% in the previous corresponding Qtr in 2011.
  • The Occupancy Rates for the last 6 years has been in the range of (45.8%) and (51.7%).
