The Employment and Unemployment Survey (EUS) 2023–24 provides an important snapshot of Fiji’s labour market and the experiences of people of working age. The survey helps show how people are participating in the workforce, the types of work they are engaged in, and the challenges some groups face in finding or maintaining employment.

This latest survey round follows updated international standards from the 19th and 21st International Conferences of Labour Statisticians (ICLS), ensuring Fiji’s labour statistics are consistent with global best practices. The results offer insights into employment, unemployment, labour underutilization, and informal employment, helping to better understand the changing nature of work in Fiji.

The findings from the report support government, development partners, researchers, and the private sector in making informed decisions on employment, skills development, social protection, and inclusive economic growth.
