Household Income and Expenditure Survey

The Household Income and Expenditure Survey (HIES) is a nationwide survey of selected households undertaken every 5 years by the Fiji Bureau of Statistics. The main objectives of the survey are to provide household income and consumption data that will be used to update the poverty rate of the country, update the basket and weights for the Consumer Price Index (CPI), contribute to the development of the national accounts as well as providing the necessary baseline socio-economic indicators for further analysis and research purposes. The 2025-2026 HIES will be carried out between March 2025 to March 2026.
