The review of the Statistics Act 1961 has been approved by Cabinet as per the Cabinet Decision 211/2023.
The Fiji Bureau of Statistics (FBoS) will be conducting a nationwide consultation on the Statistics Act to
adequately capture and take into consideration the interests, concerns and voices of every Fijian with the
focus to modernize the act and carry out its mandates and functions in line with international standards
and best practices.
The public consultation commences with effect from Wednesday 7th February 2024 in Levuka and will
end on Friday 26th April 2024 in Vitilevu. The consultation schedule and venues are tabulated in the table
below for information and attendance.
Members of the public including the FBoS stakeholders, organizations and communities are invited to
participate in the Fiji Bureau of Statistics (FBoS) Nationwide Consultation to contribute and provide
comments/feedbacks and submissions on the Statistics Act, a copy of which can be accessed online on
